Is Dodge dead last in the Muscle Car scene?

Mandy asked:

Out of Camaro, mustang, and challenger everyone is saying the challenger is the worst. I would love to have a challenger just from watching Vanishing point but of course I can't get a 70 lets be realistic. I have to get a new one so it makes it hard for me. I don't want a mustang. My older brother just traded his 40th anniversary mustang and I never liked it considering every teenager owns one. Therefore I am left with the new camaro or the challenger. I love how they tried making the challenger look old but still new. I also love the retro look of the new camaro. So it makes it hard for me because I want something that just GROWLS and make everyone jealous.

Which of the two should i get?

Muscle car restoration:?

The Deacon asked:

Specifically, a 1969 or 1970 Dodge Charger.

Personally, I'd like to find myself one hidden away in some barn that I have to tow home and spend a summer on, but I was wondering if anyone had any general comparisons to offer between that approach and simply buying one in top condition.

Which would be more expensive, and by how much (on the average)?

No matter which way this goes, I'm more inclined to make one purchase at a time as I get this thing together by hand, but I'm still curious.

What do you think of the future of the muscle car market?

Lewisimo asked:

As any car afficionado knows, muscle cars have exploded in value the last 5 years. The rare-er the car, the higher it goes.

However, I have begun to see some weakness in the market in certain areas. Maybe it's a side effect of the housing/lending crisis as Harley is feeling, or was the whole thing just a fad?

I'd like to purchase one, not for investment, but for use. I can wait a year of 2 if they may go down, but if the current slump is only temporary, I might as well buy.

The days of cloning a AAR Cuda, Z/28, or Judge and getting $100k are over. I know the rareest cars are holding value, but what about more of a daily driver? I've seen 69 Chargers with number matching 440's and a few options for $25k. I've seen non-matching big block cars for $20k or less.
