How much would it cost to restore a Classic Muscle Car?

It really depends on the condition of the car you start with, and if you had to hire someone to do some of the work. I would guess-tamate that it would run between 5 & 10 K.

it would depend on which type car you chose to restore,some of the parts for some of these cars aren’t available,and you,ll have a hard time finding things for them,i have restored a few of them ,and you can get upwards of 20 thousand in to one real easy,the cheapest one you can restore right now is a mustang,there’s parts all over the place for those,and there’s plenty of them around to restore also,the better condition it is in when you buy it,the less money has to be spent on it,good luck with one.

mustangs are a good choice plenty of trim and body parts are being remanufactured.
a 289/302 car will cost around $10,000
boss 302, boss 351 ,or 390 mach1 will cost more.about 15,000
if it was a boss 429..i hope you have hit the lotto.
most cars cost about the same to re build if you can find the parts

Hybrids
Its seriously dependent on the car and what options it came with originally. The mustangs are very easy to restore, parts are readily available from a variety of vendors. I did my small block 1967 GT fastback for $12,000 back in 1974. I did all of the work myself except the body and paint work. I’m sure that would be very easy to double today. Mopars are insane cost wise to restore, especially anything with a big block or Hemi which will require a large amount of cash particularly for any of the motor and drive train parts. You may be able to find a big block Coronet cheap enough, and get the drive train rebuilt, but finding body parts and interior parts is going to be hard and expensive due to lack of interest.

You can put a lot of money in a car. I just watched a show on Speed channel. I think it was Steve Berry, he bought an old Ford Fairlane, paid $600.00 for it, then when he was done. He put another $42000.00 in it. He did sell the car at an auction for around $67000.00. It just depends on what you need to do to car.

If you are serious about this project, I strongly recommend going with performance parts to make this a sweet ride. I deal with a company that supplies me with everything I need for undercar parts such as exhaust, brakes, suspension, etc. Head to and give them a call for the best pricing. Never buy at advertised pricing. That should save you some serious money!!

So far everyone is sayiong it depends on the car, That’s mostly true.
Things to consider: A 60′s Mustang could be built from the ground, up out of a catalog. This means all the parts you might ever need are available and relatively inexpensive.
Any Chrysler product (Dodge, Plymouth, Desoto, etc) WILL cost about three times as much as a Ford or Chevy restoration.
This is because most Cherysler owners demand a certain level of authenticity, and restoration parts are much more expensive.
