Most if not all imports have higher rpm’s than american cars. You’ll need HP for the track or to drag .American muscle will smoke a import every time stock to stock.

Typically muscle cars are high horsepower/lower rpm and best suited for the drag. Imports are lower horsepower/high rpm and better for the motorcourse/track.

some imports will always out rev an American muscle car ,but they don’t always have the horse power they need for the track, when it comes down to it ,a good muscle car will usually eat a import up,nothing beats horse power on a car for the race track, good luck with it.

i have a import. imports rpm will typically go to about 7k. v8 normally have more power at lower rpms. i have been beaten by nasty muscle cars new and old. a car can be what you make it. but the 4 bangers are coming. so mustangs, vettes, and chargers watch out.

There is no replacement for displacement! Think of your engine as a big air-pump, the more air you can move the more power you will make. RPM depends alot on bore and stroke too. Good luck
