Nice muscle or sporty car for $3000-4000?
tweetybird78634 asked:
Okay, so as my first car I am actually getting 2 cars. One, a more reliable probably late 90's to early 200's. The other, My Classic car, which I'll drive more once I get experienced on the road. I dont need help as far as what to look for in a classic; but I dont know too many nice cars from the 90's-00's. Preferably kinda muscle-carish or sporty. I was thinking a mid-late 90's V6 Firebird or mustang, but im not sure. I dont have a extreme need for speed or anything, and I am not looking to hop it up and make it fast. I have kinda skimmed over craigslist in my area, but unlike with the classics, I have no Idea what to look out for. Tell me your thoughts or suggestions
Also found a 2002 Toyota Celica... Would this be a good choice?

The price and sporty make this a hard fit if you are looking for vehicles with a good reliability history. The list above should fit your requirements and the model year listed should be in the price range.
At this age, condition is extremely important. Make sure you get an independent inspection before you buy.

Honestly I like all the cars from 1969 more than any new cars ever made. I especially like the 1969 Mustang Mach 1, The 1969 Camaro RS/SS, The 1969 Dodge Charger, The 1969 Dodge Duster, The 1969 El’ Camino, The 1969 Chevelle, The 1969 F-100(pickup truck but its nice), or the Ford “Deuce”, Also the 1955 F-100. Or the model T buckets, Model A roadsters any thing like that as well. But if your looking for a mid 90′s car I’d get a Mustang Cobra or Gt, Or a Camaro, or Firebird like you mentioned in your question.

yes it would be easy to get a v6 mustang from the 90′s in that price range
so that would be a good bet

For 3-4000 you could probably fond a nice fox body 5.0 Mustang( 93 and earlier models) which are easy to modify and come stock with some nice power. you could also go for a ncie 95 Camaro or Firebird with the T-tops. either one would be in that range.

for $4,000
look for
98 Acura CL, 98 Ford Mustang V6, 98 Honda Accord or Civic, 98 Nissan Frontier or Pathfinder, 98 Subaru Impreza or Legacy, 98 -00 Toyota Corolla or Echo 00
these are all reliable and will last longer than other cars in this price range.
for around $6k an Acura Integra 98-99 is a great car.

You could easily find a good car for that, i would recommend a 96+ Firebird like you mentioned.. why 96 and up you ask..? Because its a different V6 then earlier years, better reliability and performance. I wouldn’t recommend a V6 Mustang seeing as they tend to have head gasket problems and can be a expensive repair or even cause you to have to replace the engine. You might also like The Nissan 240sx or the Acura RSX. But when in doubt about a car have it checked out at a reputable mechanic before you buy, if they are really trying to sell the car and have nothing to hide the sellers will agree to let you have it checked out first.
